Snorkeling Iceland's Thingvellir Silfra Fissure

This might be one of the best things we’ve ever experienced while traveling: snorkeling between the North American and European continents in the Silfra Fissue located in Thingvellir, Iceland. This lava fissure is filled with glacial runoff, which stays just about freezing in the summer months.

Equipped with a down suit then a water-proof wetsuit, the excursion immediately starts with a dip into the icy waters. The only part of your body that gets cold is the exposed skin around your mouth and snorkel mask. One look below the surface and you’re immediately speechless. Just watch the video and you’ll see just how incredible and other-worldly this is!
