Chihuly in the Desert: An Advanced Viewing at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix
Chihuly returns to the Sonoran Desert with Chihuly in the Desert, a new exhibition set against majestic saguaros, landmark buildings, and striking Papago buttes. Presented at Desert Botanical Garden and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, the joint exhibition combines art, architecture to create an unparalleled experience.
It is open from December 3, 2021 to June 19, 2022 at both locations and we were fortunate enough to get an advanced viewing at the Desert Botanical Garden. You know us, we always have to make sure an art museum or fine art experience is a part of all of our trips!
Chihuly in the Desert showcases Dale Chihuly’s stunning, large-scale installations nestled among the Garden’s world-class collection of desert plants. Featuring installations on the Garden’s trails complemented by a major indoor gallery in Dorrance Hall, the dynamic exhibition includes never-before-seen installations and is a must-see throughout the seasons.
The Desert Botanical Garden is amazing in of itself and definitely warrants a visit every time we are in town but specially with the Chihuly glass pieces, it was a sight to be seen!
