Camping on the Beach at Young State Park

Our biggest camping goal for the year was to be able to get a waterfront camping spot that could accommodate our camper. It might sound like a simple thing but the Michigan State Park system is incredibly competitive and it is very difficult to snag a beach spot when the reservation system opens.

Thankfully we were patient and ended up snagging a spot at Young State Park in Boyne City on beautiful Lake Charlevoix for later in the season. Fall in Michigan is always unpredictable so we packed up and hoped for the best.

Thankfully the weather did NOT disappoint!

Not only we were able to get a site on the road directly across from the water but we were able to get three sites in a row for family and friends which made for an incredible long weekend in Northern Michigan. By day we could walk the park, go to the beach, go fishing, read by the water, and make great foods.

It was such an amazingly great weekend and the perfect way to end Summer 2022!
