Camping at Harrisville State Park
This weekend we headed out on our first camping trip of the year… which of course corresponding with car trouble (of course). However the great news is that we got everything fixed and it only set us behind schedule two hours.
After work on Friday we headed to Harrisville State Park on the Lake Huron shore in northern Michigan. Established in 1921, Harrisville State Park is one of Michigan's oldest state parks. This 107-acre park also offers a picnic area and pavilion, two-mile trek hiking trail as well as a bicycle rental program. The trail is a three-quarter mile, paved multi-use trail leading out of the park, which connects to the remainder of the trail leading into the town of Harrisville.
All the campsites are nestled among pine and cedar trees along the sandy shores of Lake Huron. And the best part? The entire shoreline is pet-friendly!
The campground also features a relatively newer bathhouse that was very nice and clean and central to all of the campsites
We had an amazing long-weekend on the beach to truly kick off summer! Although we are both vaccinated, we are continuing to stay local and avoid flying or any travel that includes excessive time in indoor public spaces.
Looking forward to another good season of camping! 🏕
